Anche per i Soul Doctor arriva immancabile l’appuntamento con il primo disco live. ‘That’s Live’ è infatti la prima testimonianza di questo tipo per la band di Berlino, attiva da alcuni anni nel settore dell’hard rock e autrice di ben quattro lavori ufficiali di indubbio valore e successo. Sound melodico dunque ma anche d’impatto e potente, con un guitar riffing costantemente pulsante e una sezione ritmica molto dinamica e fantasiosa. Tutti elementi che in questo lavoro vengono oltre modo esaltati dalla dimensione live del prodotto e dalla buona qualità di registrazione che caratterizza un po’ tutte le tracce presentate, estrapolate da vari concerti in giro per l’Europa tra il 2005 e il 2007. A tal proposito, è sicuramente ottima la scelta della band di pescare a piene mani dalla propria intera discografia e una sequela di hit come ‘Blood Runs Cold’, ‘Get It On’, ‘Good Times Slippin’ Away’ e ‘Soul Doctor’ lo testimoniano alla grande. Anche la prestazione dei singoli è francamente inattaccabile e questo ‘That’s Live’ se ne giova dall’inizio alla fine, intrattenendo l’ascoltatore con un’ora abbondante di ottimo hard rock potente, vigoroso e bluesy.
Insomma, dopo un prodotto molto convincente come l’ultimo studio album ‘Blood Runs Cold’ i teutonici giocano per la prima volta la carta del CD live azzeccando tutti gli ingredienti del caso, a partire da set list, performance, qualità sonora e scelta dei tempi di rilascio…
