Late MOTÖRHEAD Drummer PHIL 'PHILTHY ANIMAL' TAYLOR's Personal Items Being Auctioned

A number of items from the estate of former MOTÖRHEAD drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor are being auctioned via The Saleroom web site. Included are such collectibles as fourteen previously unseen and unpublished photographs featuring a very young Taylor in his teenage years prior to joining MOTÖRHEAD; an original running order list and script (including lyrics) for MOTÖRHEAD‘s September 1978 appearance on the “Top of The Pops” U.K. TV program; two separate police/court documents from 1976 and 1978 relating to Phil‘s arrests; and items of memorabilia relating to MOTÖRHEAD‘s 1979 “Bomber” LP.

Taylor died on November 11, 2015 of liver failure. He was 61 years old.

A few days after Taylor‘s passing, MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy told U.K.’s Classic Rock magazine that he was “devastated” to have lost one of his best friends. He said: “Now [Phil has] died and it really pisses me off that they take somebody like him and leave George Bush alive.”

Taylor played in MOTÖRHEAD from 1975 to 1984 and again from 1987 to 1992. He appeared on the band’s debut album, “On Parole”, and played on a further ten albums, including 1979’s “Bomber”, 1980’s “Ace Of Spades”, and 1982’s “Iron Fist”.

Taylor contributed to MOTÖRHEAD‘s 1992 album “March Or Die” but departed the band during the recording process. The album was completed by drummers Tommy Aldridge and the band’s most recent sticksman, Mikkey Dee.
