Che stia tornando in auge l’Hard Rock, in tutte le sue tante sfaccettature, è un dato di fatto innegabile… ormai le band e i dischi asseribili a tale genere musicale sono innumerevoli, e tra questi dobbiamo annoverare anche questi Airless, iberici al loro terzo album. Cantano da sempre in inglese, e la loro musica può essere facilmente accostata a quella di Bon Jovi o dei White Lion, con la voce graffiante del singer Lazkano, bravo, particolare nel suo timbro ma non particolarmente vario, a avvicinare la musica del combo a quella del già citato italo-american0o, mentre in tutto l’album è l’armonia a farla da padrone, con trame musicali certamente orecchiabili e facili da assimilare, rilassanti a volte, più aggressive (si fa per dire) altre, con la chitarra di Robert Rodrigo in grande spolvero. Dopo l’intro della prima, bonjoviana “Don’t give up”, troviamo una delle song più riuscite in assoluto dell’album, “Now or Never”, bella, varia, con un timbro vocale all’altezza e tutti gli strumenti puntuali e precisi. Per il resto un album valido che scivola via e si lascia ascoltare, tra song un po’ troppo simili tra loro (capisco rispettare i dettami del genere però senza esagerare) con qualche ballad quà e là a interrompere la monotonia.
Un album valido, concreto, ma che neanche questa volta non farà fare l’agognato salto di qualità alla band.
