I 36 Crazyfists sono in giro già da un po’, ma “Rest Inside The Flames” (terza fatica del gruppo) è il loro primo disco che sento. Il genere suonato da questi ragazzi è un emocore piuttosto classico, con le sue brave influenze metalcore (in “Elysium”, la traccia più pesante del lotto, compare pure Howard Jones dei Killswitch Engage) e con tutte le sue cosine a posto, il risultato è un lavoro che si ascolta molto piacevolmente se piace la tipologia, ma che offre ben poco di nuovo. L’opener “I’ll go until my heart stops” mette subito le cose in chiaro, costituita come è da strofe aggressive e ritornelli melodici come da manuale, il tutto studiato con una cura particolare dedita a far breccia su un pubblico piuttosto ampio. Altri pezzi notevoli sono “We cannot deny” (dal forte potenziale commerciale) e la ruffiana “Felt through a phoneline”, comunque di cadute di stile non ce ne sono e tutto l’album scorre senza intoppi su livelli più che dignitosi.
Come preannunciato inizialmente l’unico problema è quindi la mancanza di originalità, tuttavia agli appassionati del genere “Rest Inside The Flames” dovrebbe piacere, e almeno nei primi tempi probabilmente catalizzerà abbastanza gli ascolti. I 36 Crazyfists si portano perciò a casa una sufficienza bella abbondante (se fossimo a scuola sarebbe un 7 pieno) che però non va più in alto perchè si limita a ripercorrere (bene) strade già molto battute.
