Swedish/British hard rockers SONIC SYNDICATE continue their video blog series with their third clip, focusing on new bassist Michel “Miche” Bärzén. The new episode can be viewed below.

Bärzén, who joined the band on a permanent basis after spending the past few years as a temporary fill-in following the exit of Karin Axelsson, reflects on “finding music” while in the military for a short time. He relays a story of a rescue mission his platoon had to go on, only to find their rescue target dead in an ice patch. Michel also reveals that the release of expression is the most important thing about music to him.

SONIC SYNDICATE recently released a lyric video for “Start A War”, the debut single from their fifth full-length studio album — and first for Despotz“Confessions”.

Produced by Kristoffer Folin at Purple Skull Music, “Start A War” is the band’s public introduction to the new direction they have taken on the “Confessions” album. About the track, vocalist Nathan J. Briggs says: “The song is about daring to dream, I guess. In this life, you can do anything or be anything. It’s a cliché, but it’s true. But you’ve got to want it, and sometimes you really have to fight, to start a war to get there. This is a reminder for everyone, but also to myself with this new album.”

“Confessions” will be released on October 14. The CD was recorded at Purple Skull Music with producer Kritoffer Folin and is said to be “the band’s most diverse and unique work to date.”

SONIC SYNDICATE will support AMARANTHE on a European tour in October/November.
