A 225-person Canadian choir has paid tribute to Chris Cornell by covering SOUNDGARDEN‘s classic song “Black Hole Sun”.

Toronto’s Choir! Choir! Choir!, which has made a name for itself by turning its audiences into choirs, directing each one in a celebration of contemporary pop songs, delivered a massive rendition of the 1994 “Superunknown” track while accompanied by one acoustic guitar and a conductor.

In a note accompanying the video, which was recorded on Tuesday (May 23), Choir! Choir! Choir! wrote: “RIP Chris Cornell. No one sang like you, or ever will.”

The collective, which is led by Nobu Adilman and Daveed Goldman, previously covered David Bowie‘s “Space Oddity” and Prince‘s “When Doves Cry” following the iconic musicians’ respective deaths in 2016. The group has opened for Patti Smith and Jay Leno, and performed with TEGAN AND SARA.
