Video Premiere: AMARANTHE's 'Boomerang'

“Boomerang”, the new video from Swedish melodic metallers AMARANTHE, can be seen below. The clip was once again directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES and KAMELOT, among others.

Commented AMARANTHE guitarist Olof Mörck: “It is finally time to release our brand new video for ‘Boomerang’, an AMARANTHE take on the classic heist movie. Directed by the legendary Patric Ulleaus, it is everything you have come to expect of an AMARANTHE video and much more! It is perhaps the most ambitious video from the band so far, since it is packed to the brim with action, glitter, and glamour. You can try to bring us down, but we’ll come around, like a ‘Boomerang’!”

“Boomerang” is taken from AMARANTHE‘s latest album, “Maximalism”, which was released on October 21 via Spinefarm Records.

“Maximalism” was produced once again by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, EPICA, DELAIN) and mastered by Svante Forsback (RAMMSTEIN, APOCALYPTICA, DRAGONFORCE).

Refusing to be pinned down by genre or convention, AMARANTHE have consistently pursued the less travelled path, blending different sounds and styles to create a signature hybrid approach, and “Maximalism” sees their collective wide-angle vision laid out with greater skill and conviction than ever before.

From the locomotive power of “Faster” and “Fury” through to the more measured drama of “Limitless” and “Endlessly” (a solo tour de force for singer Elize Ryd), this is AMARANTHE ramping up both the energy and the emotion, and generally pushing everything to the max.

The album is full of songs so catchy that they embed themselves in your brain for hours, and “That Song” is easily one of the most memorable AMARANTHE numbers to date.

In support of “Maximalism”, AMARANTHE will launch a North American headlining tour on February 10 in Houston, Texas. Support on the trek will come from FAILURE ANTHEM, CYPHER 16 and SMASH INTO PIECES.
