John 5 spoke to Totally Driven Radio about ROB ZOMBIE‘s forthcoming studio album, which will arrive later this year via the iconic rocker’s new record label, Nuclear Blast Records.

“That is gonna be something else,” the guitarist said (hear audio below). “It’s such a great record. We really worked hard on it. I think people are really gonna dig it. If they liked anything he did from the past, they will definitely like this, that’s for sure.”

According to John 5, the songwriting process for Rob‘s new LP was unlike anything he had ever been involved in before.

“[Rob] had the lyrics and the melody and a map of everything,” John 5 explained. “And I came in and I put down riffs and all this crazy stuff, and it worked so well. I mean, it was such a great way to write music. I was, like, ‘Oh, man, we’ve gotta do this more often,’ because it was such a great way to do it. So I was super happy with how everything came out, that’s for sure.”

He added: “It was so rad. It was just a whole different vibe than something you’ve done every year a certain way. And it’s very, very, very, very difficult to do as well. You’re trying to write these really cool songs. It’s not an easy thing to do. But he had these really cool melodies and lyrics in his head. It just came together really well.”

Last year, John 5 compared ROB ZOMBIE‘s upcoming album to THE BEATLES‘ groundbreaking LP “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, saying that it is “by far the best Zombie record that he’s ever done.” He added: “A lot of people say, ‘Oh, it’s just our greatest record,’ and I don’t say that. Whatever I say is so honest when I’m doing interviews. So I think it’s our best record.”

2016’s “The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser” was the second consecutive effort to feature Zombie and John 5 alongside bassist Piggy D. and drummer Ginger Fish.
