Chad Kroeger has told Billboard that NICKELBACK is in no rush to begin work on the follow-up to 2017’s “Feed The Machine” album. “Now there isn’t this urgency,” he said. “It’s not like you have this amount of time you have to make a record because we’re going to go tour. It’s not [snaps fingers a few times] rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, with pressure from management, booking agents, record company. That’s not there anymore. It’s so nice and it really allows me a lot of time to, er — drink.”
Kroeger co-founded NICKELBACK in 1995 in Alberta, Canada with his brother Mike, who plays bass for the band. They have released nine albums, six of which have gone platinum. With more than 50 million units sold, NICKELBACK is the 11th best-selling music act and second best-selling foreign act in the U.S. in the 21st century behind THE BEATLES. “How You Remind Me” was named Billboard‘s top rock song of the decade and reached No. 4 on the Top 10 songs of the 2000s list.
Besides nine Grammy Award nominations, the band has received three American Music Awards, a World Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, twelve JUNO Awards, seven MuchMusic Video Awards and induction into Canada’s Walk Of Fame.
NICKELBACK is continuing to tour in support of “Feed The Machine”, which was released in June 2017 via BMG.
