During an August 17 interview at the press conference for the Hair Nation Festival at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, California, ’80s hard rock queen Lita Ford was asked what the best and worst things were about writing her recently released autobiography, “Lita Ford – Living Like A Runaway: A Memoir”.
“Well, the worst thing, of course, would be having to remember the bad times and the hard times,” she told Joe Schaeffer Photography (see video below). “I didn’t have to put it in the book. I didn’t have to put anything in the book, and I could have been sterile. But I didn’t want it to be sterile. I wanted people to feel my pain, and I wanted people to feel my laughter and my happiness and my achievements. So it was an up and downhill battle. Trying to find the right people to work with was a challenge. They just wanted to put out their book. It was more, like, ‘You know what? You just go ahead and put out your book and I’ll do mine.'”
“Living Like A Runaway: A Memoir” came out on February 23 via Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.
Ford issued a new album, “Time Capsule”, on April 15 via SPV/Steamhammer. The effort found her releasing archival collaborations with Billy Sheehan, Roger Carter, Dave Navarro, Jeff Scott Soho, Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander and Gene Simmons.
