A video clip of GUNS N’ ROSES members Frank Ferrer (drums), Dizzy Reed (keyboards) and Melissa Reese (keyboards) discussing their pre-show rituals can be seen below.

Ferrer said in a recent interview with Music Radar that he has “tremendous respect” for previous GUNS drummers Steven Adler and Matt Sorum. Ferrer, who has been a member of the GUNS lineup for exactly a decade, explained: “I really try to keep the spirit of the way the song was played. Adler‘s playing was one of the greatest rock drumming performances in the history of music. You can put it in the top ten. His playing on GUNS‘ debut, ‘Appetite For Destruction’, is perfect. Then with Sorum, it’s a little more tight and more reserved kind of playing.”

Ferrer joined GUNS as a replacement for Bryan “Brain” Mantia. He said: “I have tremendous respect for the drummers in GUNS N’ ROSES. I love Brain so much. What Brain told me was to try and make the songs my own. I never forget that. Obviously my own personality comes through, especially on some of the funkier stuff. I might give a more New York hip-hop kind of feel to it.”

Ferrer became part of the GUNS lineup in June 2006 and has appeared on every tour since then, along with playing on several tracks for 2008’s “Chinese Democracy” album.

He is one of three musicians from the recent GUNS lineups to be retained for the current semi-reunion featuring original members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan.

Neither Adler nor “Use Your Illusion”-era stickman Matt Sorum was asked to participate, although Steven was rumored at one point to make a guest appearance.
