David “Gus” Griesinger of BackstageAxxess.com conducted an interview with legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB, SWEET & LYNCH) at last month’s NAMM show in Anaheim, California. You can now watch the chat below.

Speaking about some of his upcoming projects, Lynch said: “I’ve got another project I’ve been working on for about two years called THE INFIDELS. And, actually, we finally found the vocalist that we’ve been looking for. We were working with Sen Dog for a second, from CYPRESS [HILL], then we had another couple of guys we used that just kind of fell out. So now we’re working with Angelo Moore from FISHBONE. So it’s the rhythm section from WAR. In fact, Pancho Tomaselli, the bass player, is an ESP endorser. He’s fantastic. He plays with CHEECH & CHONG, he plays with WAR, he plays with TOWER OF POWER. [He’s] a phenomenal bass player. And Sal Rodriguez on drums, who’s equally phenomenal. He just dig the trench and builds a groove like you just wouldn’t believe. It’s just insane.”

He continued: “I so love playing with these guys. What we do is we just go in the studio and just jam, and just magic happens. So we ended up having a song… They just kept rolling tape… We had a 17-minute song that was actually cohesive that we didn’t think of. We just sort of jammed it, and all these parts… and they’re really legitimate parts. And it just evolves, and it’s magical, and it’s inspired, and it’s, like, ‘Damn, we’ve gotta put this out.’ How do you put out a 17-minute song? [Laughs] I’m really proud of it, man. I love the band. So we’re gonna working on that too.”

Asked if THE INFIDELS is going to be a touring act, Lynch said: “That could be. I would like to go out and do that. ‘Cause that would be just so much fun. I mean, if it’s clubs… I don’t care. It would be fine. We’re all used to doing that kind of stuff.”
