DISTURBED Singer: 'We Still Feel Like We're The Young Band Fighting For Its Place In This World'

In a recent interview with Heavy Consequence, DISTURBED frontman David Draiman was asked what it feels like for his band to be headlining major venues like New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden. He responded (see video below): “It’s still very surreal. I know that we’re already 20 years into this and that we’re considered veterans, but we still feel like we’re the young band fighting for its place in this world. And we still feel like we have so much yet to prove and so much still to do. So it’s always a welcome feeling of surrealness that washes over us in situations like that. A lot of these bucket-list arenas that we were so blessed to be able to finally play.”

He continued: “One of the amazing things about the career of DISTURBED is that somehow, some way, we’ve always continued to be on this gradual ascent — never any really dips; always just a nice gradual climb. And it’s been a hell of a ride.”

DISTURBED released a music video last month for its new single “No More” from the band’s current album, “Evolution”. In addition, DISTURBED released a digital-only five-song EP on Friday (June 28) titled “Live From Alexandra Palace, London”, which features a concert version of “No More” plus four other songs.

DISTURBED will begin the second leg of its North American tour on July 21 at the Mankato Civic Center in Mankato, Minnesota. Select shows on the tour will feature special guests POP EVIL or IN THIS MOMENT.

“Evolution” debuted at No. 1 on Top Rock Albums and No. 4 on the Billboard 200 last November, with 71,000 equivalent album units earned.

DISTURBED has had nine total Mainstream Rock Songs No. 1s, tying for the fifth most since the chart lanched in 1981 with AEROSMITH, GODSMACK and METALLICA.
