DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT's Ryan Van Poederooyen Posts Live Drumcam Footage Of PHYSICIST's "Namaste" From Manchester Show

Devin Townsend Project drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen has checked in with the following update:

“Here’s my second drumcam of 2015. This video was recorded in Manchester, England during our first tour of 2015 in Europe and the UK supporting our new Z2 Double Album. The song is ‘Namaste’. A lot of people have requested to see this song on a drum cam, so here it is. I took an oldy but goldy from the album Physicist. It’s a straight up fast double kick song with some fun ride cymbal work in the chorus sections. It’s not too hard to play at all, this song is about precision, timing and consistency.

It’s always important to have proper dynamics whether playing fast or slow. Make sure your playing is even and consistent at all times. Hope you guys enjoy this drumcam.

Alright, I’m rehearsing for our big Royal Albert Hall show on April 13th, 2015…. I’m off to practice! Thanks for your support.”

In September 2014, Canadian vocalist/guitarist/producer Devin Townsend announced a special show at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London, England on April 13th, 2015 showcasing his new Z² album. Word came down recently that the Devin Townsend Project will be playing a warm-up show in the O2 Bournemouth, UK on April 11th in preparation of the Royal Albert Hall gig. Tickets and event information are available here.

Townsend issued a statement regarding the show stating that it will be “basically what we did with The Retinal Circus a few years back will be taken to the next level with Z² live.” He has now issued a video update on his plans for the show:
