DENNIS WARD Announces Song Contest For Newcomers And Unsigned Artists; Video

Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69) has announced a song contest for newcomers and unsigned artists with the following message:

“Hello to all my friends & colleagues!

Today I’ve decided to finally put into action something that I’ve been wanting to do for several years but have always been distracted by either my official engagements or by domestic laa-dee-daa. Not a very good excuse, I know, but my commitments were always of the kind that would not allow me, honestly and genuinely, to put full focus on the idea I’m going to be presenting some of you, my musical colleagues: A song contest (ta-da!)

You see, I’ve been blessed by the opportunities that I’ve been given since becoming a professional musician in 1986, and I know how it can be to simply not have the resources to show ones talent or full potential. Which often means that chances just get lost. Frustrating, I know!

So, as many of you obviously know, I am a musician, producer and audio sound engineer. I’ve been practicing my audio career professionally for the past 20 years, so it’s pretty easy to say that I feel quite confident with my craft. I’ve done my fair share of charity giving in my life, but this time I’d like to give something that I can truly give out in abundance – my services as a sound engineer, more directly – a mix and master of a full length album for free. Yes, that’s it!

In celebration of the holiday season and my 20 years in the recording business, I’m offering a free mix and mastering to any band/artist out there willing to take part in my competition. It must be a kind of competition or else I would have to draw straws, which I don’t feel is fair.

Here’s how it will work…

Competition Eligibility:

To be considered eligible for the competition, band/artist must meet the following criteria:

– Band/Artist must be from Planet Earth.
– Band/Artist must be aged between 1 and 150 years old.
– Must have multi-track recordings of their projects in form of Audio tracks (not midi). These files can be delivered as Protools, Cubase DAW sessions or as consolidated files.
– The combined length of all songs must not exceed 55 minutes.
– Band/Artist must be unsigned. This means no label or distribution deal at the time of competition entry, be it with the submitted Band/Artist or another act (basically this means that all musicians officially involved in submitted music must be unsigned! If you had Jimi Hendrix do a tambourine overdub this is ok!). Band/Artists with publishing deals are acceptable.

How will Band/Artist be judged? On song quality alone. This means the quality of the performance, lyrics, arrangement and whatever else needed to make a good song. That’s it!

Judges: Making up our panel of judges, alongside myself, will be:

Pete Newdeck (Tainted Nation)
– More Judges TBA

* Note – Contacting judges directly, other than myself in regards to this competition, will result in immediate disqualification.

How To Enter The Competition: If you want to have a chance at a free mix/mastering then please submit your 2 best songs (in rough-mix form) as MP3’s or links to Soundcloud, to my official email: dennis@dennisward.de

I will be accepting submissions until the 1st of January 2016.

Should anyone have any other questions please feel free to contact me directly: dennis@dennisward.de.”
