Jack Antonio caught up with Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott at this year’s installment of Heavy Montreal (August 7th through 9th) at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Amott discusses his pre-Arch Enemy days, a new Arch Enemy album, and whether or not Jeff Loomis will be in on it.
BraveWords caught up with Amott and Loomis at this year’s Heavy Montréal. About the interaction between the pair Loomis explains: “When we first got together we kind of treated it as ‘is this going to work’ kind of a thing for the first month or so. Our styles are different, but our vibratos match very nicely and the harmonies that we play. Rhythmically we play very similar. Overall it’s a great match. I’ve always been a big fan of Arch Enemy from the beginning. I’m very lucky to be here.”
On August 7th, Arch Enemy performed at Heavy Montreal in Montreal, Quebec. It was a hometown show for vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. Check out the fan-filmed video below:
