Swedish melodic metallers AMARANTHE have completed work on their new album, “Maximalism”, for a tentative October release via Spinefarm. The follow-up to 2014’s “Massive Addictive” was recorded at Top Floor studios in Gothenburg with producer Jakob Herrman.

AMARANTHE will promote “Maximalism” with an extensive world tour which will kick off this October in Europe. Support on the European trek will come from SONIC SYNDICATE and openers SMASH INTO PIECES.

AMARANTHE guitarist Olof Mörck previously described the band’s new material as “certainly [our] most diverse so far; our trademark bleeding edge modern metal is ever present, but fused with an even wider range of genres than before, featuring everything from stadium rock, the latest in pop music innovation and danceable super-hits. Expect these tunes to enter your mind permanently, never to leave!”

AMARANTHE‘s single “Nexus” recently went gold and “Amaranthine” and “Hunger” were certified platinum — all in AMARANTHE‘s home country of Sweden.

AMARANTHE singer Elize Ryd stated in a 2014 interview that the songs on “Massive Addictive” “represent each genre in a more clear way than on the two previous albums. I play around with the vocal melodies more than I’ve been able to do earlier.”

She added: “I stand most for the vocal melodies; that’s my ace in the making — to build up the spirit and emotion I want to represent.

“I wanted the album to sound more modern, sporty, intense, unlimited, playful. It’s most important for me to always think forward and to keep the voltage alive in the music.”
