MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil was the headliner of the annual Rock-N-Roar concert at this year’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Neil appeared on Saturday, April 18 at 6:45 p.m., on the outdoor stage adjacent to the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. The concert was free to all Grand Prix of Long Beach ticket holders.

The Rock-N-Roar concert is a staple of Saturdays at the Grand Prix of Long Beach, providing live entertainment to close out the second day of a three-day race weekend.

Neil‘s live backing band continues to consist of bassist Dana Strum and Jeff Blando (both of SLAUGHTER) and drummer Zoltan Chaney.

Neil spoke to AberdeenNews.com about what keeps him inspired to play casinos around the country with his solo band when he is not busy performing in arenas around the world with the CRÜE. “I enjoy being on the road, and I enjoy doing these shows,” he said. “If it wasn’t fun, I wouldn’t do it. I’d be doing something else. I’d be on vacation like the rest of the MÖTLEY guys.”

Neil‘s setlist for his solo shows includes CRÜE hits “Dr. Feelgood”, “Without You” and “Girls, Girls, Girls”. “We kind of have to,” he said in a 2014 interview. “I’d be disappointed as a fan if I went and saw me and I didn’t play some of the hits…. Every song you’re going to know. It’s rock ‘n’ roll.”

Neil‘s latest solo album, “Tattoos & Tequila”, sold 7,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 57 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was issued in Europe on June 4, 2010 via Frontiers Records and was made available in the U.S. on June 22, 2010 through Eleven Seven Music.
