Cordell has checked in with an overview of the album’s title track:

“This is where the album takes a shift lyrically from an observer perspective, where I’ve talked about my social, political, spiritual and cultural observations to a more personal perspective and how my observations have had some sort of implications on my own world.

In this song I talk about a bigger picture perspective how important it is for me to disconnect every now and then from the day-to-day in order to have a more complete view on any given situation in particular, or life in general. For me the most comprehensive view comes in the form of travel, particularly to one of the most beautiful regions of the world; Patagonia, which spreads across the vast lands of Southern Chile and Argentina. I’ve spent a very significant and important time of my childhood in Chile and so the subject comes up during this second part of the album quite a bit.

Opening with ‘I find myself standing here again, at the foot of this great big mountain’ I refer to a very specific location; the mountain range called ‘Los Cuernos Del Paine’ located at the heart of Torres Del Paine National Park. Before you read on I recommend doing an image search to somewhat grasp the beauty of this. I’ve been fortunate enough to hike around the national park 4 times now and will most definitely return in the future.

There is something about Patagonia in general that seems to resonate with me as well as with anyone who has let the landscapes and people touch them deep enough.”

Devin Townsend Project drummer Ryan van Poederooyen was asked to record the drum tracks for the album. He checked in with the following update:

“Here is a song from an album I recorded a month after recording the Z2 double album in 2014. The band is called Trailight, it has many guest appearances from other well know bands; guys like Dave Padden (Annihilator, Terror Syndrome), Jed Simon (Scar The Martyr, ex-SYL), Christofer Malmstrom (Darkane, Non Human Level) and numerous other guest appearances including my close friend Conan Freeman. Here’s a sneak peek into the sound of this record. I really enjoyed playing drums on it and dug the tunes! Hope you guys dig it as well…. got some flashy drum parts in the middle of this tune Good times! Enjoy!”

Cordell recently posted a 30 minute behind-the-scenes look at the production which can be viewed below. For information on Trailight go to this location.
