Grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN will celebrate their 35th anniversary by launching a new album-of-the-month club. Every month, a brand-new colored vinyl edition of the band’s A&M albums will be released, starting with “Superunknown” on April 5. Exclusive bundles with the full set of LPs plus a bonus exclusive lithograph are also available at this location. Other albums included in the club are “Louder Than Love”, “Badmotorfinger”, “Down On The Upside” and “King Animal”.

SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell was pronounced dead on May 18, 2017 after being found unresponsive in his Detroit hotel room. SOUNDGARDEN had played a show earlier that evening. The 52-year-old had sedatives and an anxiety drug in his system, but died as a result of hanging himself.

The three remaining members of SOUNDGARDEN, along with METALLICA, FOO FIGHTERS and members of AUDIOSLAVE, performed together for the first time since Cornell‘s death at a benefit concert honoring the singer on January 16 at the Forum in Los Angeles.

“I miss his company and presence,” Kim told Kerrang! “I miss the collaborative inspiration he brought, too, and the team and family that we built together over the years.”

In a separate interview with Billboard, Thayil said that it’s highly improbable that the band will ever resume without Cornell. “It’s not likely that we could ever do SOUNDGARDEN without a missing piece,” he said. “I’d like to do more with Matt [Cameron, drums] in the future. I’d like to do something with Ben [Shepherd, bass] in the future. It’s likely Matt and Ben and I will do something in the future — it just probably won’t be SOUNDGARDEN. I don’t see the dignity in pursuing that course.”

Thayil went on to say that he is “completely satisfied” with the status of SOUNDGARDEN‘s legacy, but added that “it needs to be maintained. That’s why I’m overseeing the catalog and the merchandise, and I’ve been doing that all along because it’s important that the legacy is understood,” he explained. “There’s an ever-expanding demographic of potential SOUNDGARDEN fans amidst a shrinking demographic of consumers, so it’s important that they there are good ways for them to hear what we did.”

Kim said that it is possible the material SOUNDGARDEN was working on at the time of Chris‘s death will also see the light of day. “We were working on an album and there’s material there that we demoed that we can flesh out when we can access some of the basic, multi(-track) recordings, sure,” he said. “That’s being discussed.”
