Roadrunner Records U.K. conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT percussionist Chris Fehn before the band’s January 23 concert in London, England. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On what goes through his mind while he is performing:

“My love for music and my love for SLIPKNOT. It’s never changed since Day One. Those songs still mean something to me. Corey‘s [Taylor] words still mean something to me and are valuable in my life. So it’s quit easy to get into it and to continually play, night after night, the same songs, which you would think would get boring. But since I love the band so much and what we represent that it allows me to open up my heart and who I really am and how much I really love metal and SLIPKNOT.”

On what he wants SLIPKNOT fans to take from the band’s shows:

“I’d rather they leave it all there and get everything out that they need to get out and go home with a fresh new outlook, having maybe exorcised some demons. Getting the pain out and getting the love out, and then going home completely blank and tired and ears ringing.”

SLIPKNOT has released a live video for song “Custer”, shot at last year’s Knotfest in Devore, California.

“Custer” is the latest single from “.5: The Gray Chapter”, which came out in October.

SLIPKNOT recently unveiled the details of a massive summer headlining tour dubbed “Summer’s Last Stand”. The trek kicks off on July 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida, wrapping up six weeks later on September 5 in Dallas.

The summer jaunt follows a brief spring run that SLIPKNOT will launch on April 25 in Fort Myers, Florida, ending on May 16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“.5: The Gray Chapter” sold around 132,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart.
