ROBERT PLANT Once Again Rules Out Possibility Of LED ZEPPELIN Reunion

Robert Plant has has once again shot down the possibility of a LED ZEPPELIN reunion, explaining that “you can’t ever really go back.”

LED ZEPPELIN hasn’t performed together in almost a decade, having last played London’s O2 Arena in December 2007.

The concert was part of the Ahmet Ertegun tribute event, which was chronicled on the band’s 2012 “Celebration Day” CD and DVD. The set, which featured Jason Bonham subbing for his late father John Bonham on drums, marked Plant, Jimmy Page and Paul Jones‘s first full-scale concert together since John Bonham‘s 1980 death.

In a brand new interview with the Daily Telegraph, the singer was asked about the chances of LED ZEPPELIN regrouping for more live shows.

“You can’t ever really go back,” he said. “It’s tough enough repeating yourself with something that’s a year old, never mind forty-nine years old. I’ve got to keep moving.”

Plant has arguably been the lone holdout for another LED ZEPPELIN reunion. Despite promoter-led attempts to get the band to reform for a series of concerts, Plant remains committed to his new musical direction in the roots and blues-based “Americana” field.

Robert‘s eleventh solo album, “Carry Fire”, was released on October 13 via Nonesuch/Warner. The follow-up to 2014’s “Lullaby And… The Ceaseless Roar” was produced by Plant in the west of England and Wales, at Top Cat studio in Box, Wiltshire with additional recordings at Real World and Rockfield studios. As with “Lullaby”, Plant is accompanied by his backing band THE SENSATIONAL SHAPE SHIFTERS: John Baggott on keyboards, moog, loops, percussion, drums, brass arrangement, t’bal, snare drum, slide guitar, piano, electric piano, bendir; Justin Adams on guitar, acoustic guitar, oud, E-bow quartet, percussion, snare drum, tambourine; Dave Smith on bendir, tambourine, djembe, drum kit; and Liam “Skin” Tyson on dobro, guitar, acoustic guitar, pedal steel, twelve-string.
