RAMMSTEIN Guitarist Has 'Mixed Feelings' About Band's Upcoming European Stadium Tour

RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe says that he has “mixed feelings” about the band’s upcoming European tour.

Earlier this month, the German industrial metallers announced a batch of summer 2019 stadium and arena shows, which will kick off on May 27 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and end of August 23 in Vienna, Austria.

One of the most revered metal groups of all time, RAMMSTEIN is renowned for its electrifying live shows often involving spectacular pyrotechnics.

Speaking to Finland’s Kaaos TV, Kruspe, who is promoting “A Million Degrees”, the third effort from his EMIGRATE side project, stated about RAMMSTEIN‘s upcoming stadium run (hear audio below): “I have a mixed feeling about that. Obviously, I’m looking forward to doing something like that, because we haven’t done something like that before; it’s like the next step. On the other hand, it’s also a big responsibility. I know we set out to perform on a very high level, and to continue doing that… We are in the middle of [preparing for] that, and we just realized, in a stadium, it’s different. Everything is different — you have to think different; you have to deal with daylight. Just all those things you have to consider. And it’s not that easy. My brain is running in circles thinking about what you can do and what you can’t do. And hopefully we are coming up with something good… It’s gonna be interesting. At this point, I’m very, very happy there’s five other guys that have to bear their burden as well. I mean, just to think about you’re gonna be by yourself with that kind of decision… Ooooh… So I really feel comfortable having another five guys to worry about that.”

As previously reported, RAMMSTEIN is putting the finishing touches on its long-awaited new album for an early 2019 release. The follow-up to 2009’s “Liebe Ist Für Alle Da” will be mixed at a Los Angeles studio beginning in mid-December with Rich Costey, an American producer who has previously worked with MUSE, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and FRANZ FERDINAND, among others.

In 2016 and 2017, RAMMSTEIN played a number of concerts where the band opened each show with a brand new song, presently only known as “Ramm 4”. The track contained lyrics that seemed to be a combination of various titles of previous RAMMSTEIN songs.
