Jacky BamBam of Philadelphia’s 93.3 WMMR radio station recently conducted an interview with QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali. You can now listen to the chat at this location.

Speaking about QUIET RIOT‘s current lineup, which includes singer Jizzy Pearl (LOVE/HATE, L.A. GUNS, ADLER’S APPETITE, RATT), bassist Chuck Wright and guitarist Alex Grossi, Banali said: “The lineup right now is as solid as I can remember it. And it’s great, because Chuck Wright is playing bass, and Chuck Wright has been a part of QUIET RIOT on and off for the entire history of the band. And he’s actually the bass player on the tracks ‘Metal Health (Bang Your Head)’ and ‘Don’t Wanna Let You Go’ [on QUIET RIOT‘s 1983 album ‘Metal Health’]. And Alex, who… we consider him the ‘new kid,’ on guitar, he’s been in the band ten years.”

He continued: “When I decided to go ahead and put the band back together, I decided to go with the lineup that was the last lineup we had when [late QUIET RIOT singer] Kevin [DuBrow] was alive. And Kevin really loved how that band functioned and the dynamics of that version of the band. So my first call was to Chuck and my second call was to Alex.

“Now, having Jizzy in the band is wonderful, because… The thing that’s great about having Jizzy sing these songs is that he’s got the range and the tone to do it, because, for me, it has to sound like QUIET RIOT; it has to be respectful to the legacy of this thing called QUIET RIOT and to the memory of Kevin. But the other great thing about it is the fact that Jizzy is his own singer, so he does the material really, really great, and, at the same time, he doesn’t lose his own identity. So, for me, that’s a win-win.”

QUIET RIOT‘s new lineup — featuring Pearl — made its live debut on New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2013) at Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona.

DuBrow died in November 2007 of an accidental cocaine overdose. He was 52 years old.

QUIET RIOT released a new album, “10”, in June 2014 via iTunes and Amazon through RSM Records. The effort contained six new songs — including the single “Rock In Peace” — with Pearl on vocals and four live tracks from 2007 with DuBrow, which are from the last professionally recorded live shows DuBrow and QUIET RIOT played. The effort featured guest appearances by bassists Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, DIO, OZZY OSBOURNE) and Tony Franklin (QUIET RIOT, THE FIRM, BLUE MURDER, WHITESNAKE).
