IES Rock Honors, part of the fourth annual Indie Entertainment Summit music conference in Los Angeles, this year will induct — on their 40th anniversaries — Lemmy and MOTÖRHEAD, the RAMONES and THE RUNAWAYS (on the 40th anniversary, to the day, that Joan Jett met Cherie Currie, along with the late Kim Fowley and formed the iconic all-girl band, blocks from where the Honors take place in North Hollywood, California).

Helping to induct Lemmy and MOTÖRHEAD is Slash, who’s being honored himself for his independent success with his albums, tours and movies; and there will be special tributes to Lemmy and Slash by members of METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE, MEGADETH, STRAY CATS and many more. Richie Ramone, legendary drummer and songwriter of the iconic RAMONES, will lead an all-star jam, featuring many special guests on a set of classic RAMONES anthems.

Set to take place August 5-8, IES is a four-day music and entertainment conference and festival, oriented towards the booming independent sides of the industry.

“The industry has turned to a more indie and entrepreneurial world,” states IES founder and 40 year industry veteran Jay Warsinske, “and mega artists like Slash, MOTÖRHEAD, METALLICA and many more are completely independent these days, and in more control than ever of their careers and business!”

To attend the IES Rock Honors, you must be an attendee of the IESIndie Entertainment Summit.
