“Siamo profondamente rattristati nell’annunciare la scomparsa di Clive Burr avvenuta la scorsa notte. Ha avuto per molti anni problemi cardiaci dopo aver contratto la sclerosi multipla. E’ morto in pace nel sonno nella propria casa.”
Steve Harris:
“Questa è una triste e terribile notizia. Clive è stato un caro vecchio amico di tutti noi. Era una persona meravigliosa e un gran batterista che ha dato un grande contributo ai primi Maiden. E’ un triste giorno per tutti nella band e per tutti quelli a lui vicino. I nostri pensieri e le nostre condoglianze vanno alla sua compagna Mimi e alla sua famiglia.”
Bruce Dickinson:
“Ho incontrato per la prima volta Clive quando ha lasciato i Samson per unirsi agli Iron Maiden. Era un grande e una persona che sapeva davvero vivere pienamente la propria vita. Anche durante il periodo della sclerosi multipla Clive non ha mai perso il suo senso dell’umorismo. E’ un giorno terribilmente triste e i nostri pensieri vanno a Mimi e alla sua famiglia.”
Clive Burr si era unito agli Iron Maiden nel 1979 e ha suonato nei primi tre album della band: “Iron Maiden” (1980), “Killers” (1981) e “The Number Of The Beast” (1982).
