SLIPKNOT‘s singles “Snuff”, “Before I Forget” and “Wait And Bleed” have just been certified platinum (one million units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams) by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America). These mark the first-ever platinum single certifications for the Iowa-based masked metallers.

“Snuff” is taken off SLIPKNOT‘s platinum-certified 2008 album “All Hope Is Gone”. It was the final single released from the band before the death of bassist Paul Gray and the departure of drummer Joey Jordison. During recent solo acoustic shows, Corey Taylor has performed an acoustic version of “Snuff” as a tribute to Paul Gray.

“Before I Forget” was included on 2004’s “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)” album. The track went on win the 2006 Grammy Award in the “Best Metal Performance” category.

“Wait And Bleed” originally appeared on SLIPKNOT‘s 1999 double-platinum self-titled debut album. The song earned SLIPKNOT its first Grammy nomination in 2001 for “Best Metal Performance,” though it lost to DEFTONES“Elite”.

In February 2016, the RIAA began including on-demand audio and video streams and a track sale equivalent in determining which releases get the coveted album awards, a change that followed a similar tweak in 2013 to include on-demand streams for its Digital Single Award.

As part of the new rules, 1,500 streams count as an album unit. This move came on the heels of its 2013 alteration to its Gold Single award where it announced that 100 streams would count as a single download, and in January 2016 had upped that ratio to 150 streams in recognition of how streaming had grown.

SLIPKNOT‘s long-awaited sixth album is due on August 9. The disc is once again being recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)” and helmed 2014’s “.5: The Gray Chapter”.

SLIPKNOT‘s “Knotfest Roadshow” headline tour will take place in North America this summer. VOLBEAT, GOJIRA and BEHEMOTH will join as special guests on all dates.

Produced by Live Nation, the 29-city outing will kick off July 26 in Mountain View, California at Shoreline Amphitheater and continue through September 8 where it will conclude with a performance at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas.
