On January 28, Rustyn Rose of Metalholic.com conducted an interview with former ACCEPT and current U.D.O. frontman Udo Dirkschneider. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.

Asked what motivates him to keep making new music when so many other artists are simply resting on their back catalogs, Udo said: “Yeah, what can I say? I still have fun to do this. This is my passion. I love to sing and create new songs. I don’t wanna [be] stuck on my back catalog and go on tour, maybe, and tell the people this is the last tour and go forever on a farewell tour. No, I wanna keep going. I mean, I still have fun to do this. And I think that’s the point that keeps me going.”

“Pain”, a brand new song from U.D.O., can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track is taken from U.D.O.‘s new studio album, “Decadent”, which was released in Europe on January 26 via AFM.

With recordings having taken place in Udo‘s current home, Spanish island Ibiza, and also at Redhead Audio Productions in Wilhelmshaven, this new album looks set to be yet another great statement of intent from a rock idol whose place in rock history is already well cemented.

U.D.O. in 2012 announced the addition of guitarist Andrey Smirnov to the group’s ranks. He replaced Stefan Kaufmann, who left the group for health reasons.
