TOM MORELLO Announces Spring 2019 U.S. Tour

Tom Morello will embark on a U.S. tour in May in support of his his recently released solo album, “The Atlas Underground”. Prior to the run, the RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and PROPHETS OF RAGE guitarist will perform at Ultra Music Festival in Miami on March 29.

The 14-date spring trek will launch May 3 at the Welcome To Rockville festival in Jacksonville, Florida and wrap on May 24 at the End Of The Rainbow festival in George, Washington.

Said Morello: “Very excited to announce ‘The Atlas Underground LIVE: The Last Big Event Before We All Go To Jail’. It’s one part Marshall stack guitar madness and one part bass drop meltdown.

“The show will be an intense sonic and visual ‘less talk, more rock’ experience that’s somewhere between a crazy mosh pit, an illegal rave, a subversive art installation, and a prison riot.”

Tickets for all headlining, non-festival shows will go on sale February 22 at 10 a.m. local time.

“The Atlas Underground” was released last year. The disc finds the RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist collaborating with artists like PORTUGAL. THE MAN, Whethan, Marcus Mumford, Vic Mensa, Big Boi and GZA as well as EDM acts like BASSNECTAR, KNIFE PARTY and Steve Aoki.

Regarding the musical direction of “The Atlas Underground”, Morello told Rolling Stone: “I wanted to make a record that was unapologetically a guitar album, but that had the sonic imprints of 2018.” He added of the album’s EDM influence: “What I heard in their music was very simpatico with the analog rock and roll music that I love best… It was the tension and release, it was the huge drops, it was the communal frenzy that they created, for me in the mosh pit, for them on the dancefloor.”
