MARTY FRIEDMAN Takes Inferno World Tour Across South America

Globally-renowned guitarist Marty Friedman is gearing up for the next leg of his Inferno world tour – an extensive jaunt throughout Brazil starting next Friday to support the March 6th domestic release of his acclaimed, Billboard-charting solo release. Altogether, Friedman will visit 19 Brazilian cities throughout March, followed by stops in Chile and Argentina. Full dates can be found below.

Previous legs of Friedman’s world tour included a trek across Europe with Gus G. (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne), a UK run alongside Kreator and Arch Enemy with backing support from Inferno guest collaborator Jørgen Munkeby’s band Shining (Norway), a series of guitar clinics across Italy, and a featured set at Japan’s largest heavy metal festival, Loud Park. North American dates are currently in the works.

Friedman recently returned to the US to appear at the annual NAMM convention, where he made a surprise performance with Steel Panther at the NAMM Jam concert. While in town, he also performed a guitar clinic for Musicians Institute students and alumni and appeared at the Japan Foundation of Los Angeles to present a lecture on Japanese culture and its influence on his career.

Featuring what Friedman proclaims as his heaviest and most intense work to date, Inferno features 12 tracks, recorded mainly in Los Angeles with Chris Rakestraw (Danzig, Children of Bodom) and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth). Friedman included a unique blend of guests ranging from acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela to Canadian rock guru Danko Jones and even a songwriting collaboration with his former Cacophony bandmate Jason Becker.
