Italy’s SpazioRock recently conducted an interview with KORN bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu. You can now watch the chat below.

When asked whom he would like to see “on the other side,” Fieldy said: “That’s exciting. With my belief that when I die that I’m gonna go to heaven and I’m gonna see my loved ones, that’s what gives me the hope to live — to know that I can. Everyone…. There’s such a huge list, from my dad to friends and people that I know that passed, to even be surprised… It’s such a surprising… It’s just something to look forward to. It gives me hope to live in this world. ‘Cause if it wasn’t for that, I don’t think I’d really wanna be alive if this was it, ’cause this is all stupid. If [this] was it, I’d just be, like, ‘I’ll go to sleep tonight.’ ‘Cause it’s just not worth it.”

Fieldy also talked about his strong sense of family values, explaining: “I’ve got five kids and a wife. It’s important to me. Family first, over everything. If something was to happen with my family, I’d fly home right now and I’d have to cancel the tour. But God forbid, nothing like that has ever happened, but everybody in my band is pretty much that way. If something happened with the family, family’s first and we’d be… Not that we’d have to cancel — we’d reschedule all this — but it can happen to anybody. When something goes wrong, family first. So that’s my values — family first.”

Both Fieldy and KORN guitarist Brian “Head” Welch have had highly public, though separate, conversion experiences, ones that have been greeted with a certain amount of skepticism.

Fieldy‘s 2009 memoir, “Got The Life: My Journey Of Addiction, Faith, Recovery And Korn”, details his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction during KORN‘s early years and how he became a born-again Christian to help get his life together and get sober.

KORN and STONE SOUR will join forces for a summer tour, set to get underway June 16 at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City, Utah and then continue through early August.

KORN‘s latest album, “The Serenity Of Suffering”, came out at the end of October. The track “A Different World” features a guest appearance from SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor.
