Ex-PEARL JAM Drummer Continues Slamming ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

According to The Pulse Of Radio, former PEARL JAM drummer Dave Abbruzzese has continued his campaign to be included in the band’s upcoming induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, posting on Facebook that he agreed with the following comment from his friend Joe Gastwirt, who wrote: “Leaving Dave Abbruzzese out of this award, discredits every member of PEARL JAM that receives it, as well as every other artist that has received an award from the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.”

Abbruzzese stated: “I do agree with Joe‘s post,” later writing, “PEARL JAM has always seemingly had a perceived level of integrity and has been known to stand their ground & fight the good fight, but it seems the allure of being given this trophy is just too important for them to take a stand.”

Acknowledging that the decision of which members to include in the induction is made by the Hall Of Fame and not the band, Abbruzzese wrote that the Hall should “leave it up to the group to show their true colors as they celebrate their own history in a manner of their choosing.”

But he did put some of the responsibility on PEARL JAM as well, saying that he was “personally at a loss for words for how” the members of the group and their manager “are accepting of such an injustice.”

Only original drummer Dave Krusen and current drummer Matt Cameron have been chosen for induction by the Hall. Abbruzzese, Jack Irons and brief interim drummer Matt Chamberlain have been left out.

Abbruzzese joined the band in 1991 for the “Ten” tour, and played on two of its biggest and most important albums, 1993’s “Vs.” and 1994’s “Vitalogy”. His stint with the group ended that year, after which Irons came on board for a four-year run.
