Ho recensito da poco il precedente disco dei This Is Hell (“Sundowning”), uscito da un po’ di tempo ma pubblicato in Italia solo ora, ed ecco che mi arriva anche la loro nuova fatica. La band non si sposta di una virgola da quanto già fatto, per cui anche in questo caso mi trovo fra le mani un album di sano ed onesto hardcore. Niente innovazione, nessuna sorpresa: quasi 45 minuti di musica già sentita, ma nel suo genere decisamente ben fatta. I pezzi si mantengono praticamente sempre su un livello omogeneo, non ci sono nè cali nè picchi qualitativi capaci di suscitare reazioni particolari nell’ascoltatore.
Insomma, ancora una volta “Misfortunes” è un disco di genere che probabilmente piacerà a chi apprezza l’hardcore, ma che di sicuro non rimarrà nella storia, e che conferma quanto i This Is Hell siano sostanzialmente dei “bravi artigiani”.
