I The Order arrivano dalla Svizzera, e sono composti da tre membri del gruppo thrash dei Gurd più la notevole voce dei più noti modern rockers Pure Inc. .
Il quartetto elvetico non propone né l’uno né l’altro genere, bensì si assesta su un solidissimo hard rock dal suono contemporaneo ma dalle radici che più classiche non si può.
Parlando dei The Order si possono citare tanto Dio (“In the Heat of the Lonely Night”) quanto gli Skin (“Satisfaction”), tanto i Dokken (“My Last Goodbye”) quanto l’MSG dei ’90 (“Let the Good Times Roll”), passando per la velocità dei Burning Rain, il riffing alla Iommi e i vocalizzi alla Chris Cornell.
Proprio l’ex leader dei Soundgarden è uno dei cantanti cui più spesso viene paragonato l’ottimo Gianni Pontillo, in possesso di un’ugola a metà fra il suddetto, Sammy Hagar e Neville MacDonald.
La grinta del vocalist (che ebbi modo di apprezzare dal vivo con i Pure Inc. di supporto ai Thunder nel 2005), assieme alla chitarra di Bruno Spring, è sicuramente uno dei maggiori punti di forza di un disco che non inventa, è bene dirlo, proprio nulla di nuovo, ma che cattura fin dal primo ascolto grazie a un’energia ed una brillante convinzione che non verranno mai meno fino al termine dei 42 minuti di durata.
“Mama, I Love Rock’n’Roll”, “Bridges Burning”, “Down With the Rain”, “Broken Days”, una serie di brani che non innovano e non inventano, ma divertono, fanno muovere il piede e si fanno riascoltare più e più volte volentieri senza stancare.
In un mercato saturo di dischi “ascolta e getta”, “Metal Casino” è l’ennesimo centro ad opera di una band proveniente da una nazione tanto piccola quanto sorprendentemente prolifica.
Se cercate del sano, maschio, pieno hard rock, segnatevi questo nome. Ne sarete soddisfatti.
