Sono di origini parmensi gli Spanking Hour, formazione di quattro giovani ragazzi, che oggi debutta ufficialmente sul mercato con questo splendido Revo(so)lution. Il genere proposto fara’ la felicita’ di ogni buon appassionato di heavy metal cui piacciono band come Pantera e Machine Head. Il genere proposto non si discosta dai parametri che questo genere impone: southern thrash metal potente e compatto, dove i cambi di tempo la fanno da padrona con strutture che risultano veramente piacevoli.
Il livello compositivo è davvero eccellente, e gli undici brani costituiscono un vero macigno che lascia solo a tratti qualche attimo di tregua. Quello che emerge da questo album, a differenza della musica proposta da una folta schiera di altre nuove band è l’interpretazione che riescono a dare. Infatti i pezzi sono intensi e suonati in maniera impeccabile con forte sentimento, a partire dalla romboante “Pillow” fino alla conclusiva e dirompente“The Pain Becomes My Treasure”. Le chitarre sono estremamente pesanti e rocciose; la batteria è veloce in pieno stile thrash per un impatto garantito, splendida la prova del cantante Franco Campanella che viaggia ad alti livelli per tutta la durata del disco.
In conclusione un lavoro davvero sorprendente che, sono sicuro, fara’ la fortuna della band, proiettandoli in una posizione di assoluto prestigio a livello italiano e con la speranza che i nostri si aggiungano agli altri gruppi che tanto si sono fatti valere all’interno della nuova scena metal europea. I nuovi Extrema? Perche’ no..
