Una base tra il gothic ed il power su cui sono innestati elementi vagamente prog e qualche “sfuriata” più violenta (più che altro della sezione ritmica, che ogni tanto accelera e “pesta”), il tutto abbondantemente sinfonico: ecco in cosa consiste la proposta degli Echoes Of Eternity. Il risultato è un dischetto passabile e che si lascia ascoltare, ma tutto sommato un po’ noioso e decisamente poco innovativo. Non basta infatti miscelare gli elementi appena descritti (cosa che tra l’altro ormai è già stata fatta innumerevoli volte da tantissimi gruppi) per creare un lavoro personale e capace di colpire. Le canzoni che compongono il disco (la prima e l’ultima traccia sono, tanto per essere originali, un’intro ed un’outro) non riescono a donare un briciolo di emozione vera e durante l’ascolto si confondono e provocano una certa sensazione di piattezza. Che poi alla fine non si può dire che l’ascolto di “The Forgotten Goddess” sia una sofferenza, perchè comunque le canzoni sono gradevoli, tuttavia la sensazione di avere tra le mani un disco dozzinale è fortissima e non aiutano a migliorare la situazione nè la prestazione della cantante, decisamente anonima sia come timbro sia come stile, nè il bilanciamento tra i momenti più pesanti e la sinfonicità del tutto (a volte l’ascolto, già non fluidissimo, risulta ulteriormente appesantito).
Insomma, “The Forgotten Goddess” alla fine riesce a prendere la sufficienza perchè formalmente non è fatto male (nonostante i difetti), tuttavia di dischi così ce ne sono tantissimi e non trovo nessun motivo per considerarlo più interessante di altri.
