Guitarist John Petrucci of progressive metallers DREAM THEATER dropped by Guitar Center in Carle Place, New York and talked about his musical beginnings, the genesis of his sound, and signature guitars with Ernie Ball Music Man. Check out the clip below.
DREAM THEATER recently returned to the studio to start writing and recording the follow-up to the band’s 2013 self-titled effort. The new CD is tentatively due this fall via Roadrunner.
“Dream Theater” sold around 34,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD, which arrived in stores on September 24, 2013 via Roadrunner, earned DREAM THEATER its second Grammy nomination, for “Best Metal Performance” for the single “The Enemy Inside”.
