ZAKK WYLDE Discusses Paris Terrorist Attacks - “If You’ve Got A Problem With America, Get An Army Together, And Try And Come Over And Whoop Our Ass Then Instead Of This Punk Shit”

“I don’t think anybody thinks about it”, Black Label Society leader Zakk Wylde tells AMFM when asked about the terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13th, where the greatest number of deaths occurred at the Bataclan venue where Eagles Of Death Metal were performing.

“It’s like guys that drive a racecar. I think you just get in the racecar and go, you know what I mean? It’s just really insane with the thing that just happened in Paris and the Dimebag thing and the John Lennon thing. You can’t stop mental illness. It’s crazy that the Dimebag thing happened the same day as John Lennon. The one guy said that Dimebag broke up the band (Pantera) and stole his songs and the guy with John Lennon figured he would kill him, get his fame, and get a date with Jodie Foster. It’s like, “Bro, I don’t know if any chicks are going to want to date you now.” [Laughs]

“You can’t stop crazy. If it’s not guns, we’ll be banning samurai swords or whatever weapon you can get. It’s pointless, man. And the thing that happened in Paris, it’s ridiculous, man. If you’ve got a problem with America, get an army together, and try and come over and whoop our ass then instead of this punk shit.”

Speaking with Phoenix New Times, Zakk recently talked about narrowing down songs for a 2016 album release:

“Well, for the Book of Shadows II record, we ended up having about 40 basic tracks we put down. So it is a matter of putting lyrics to them and finishing them up. And right now, I mean, before I was talking to you, I was writing music. I’ll probably start recording again before Christmas, doing some vocals, then try to knock out as much as I can in January, and the record should be done. It’s an immersive-type style for Black Label. You know, acoustic, piano, but electric guitar in there as well.”
