Wisconsin’s BEREFT Signs With Prosthetic Records

Prosthetic Records has announced the signing of Wisconsin-based atmospheric blackened/doom metal quartet Bereft. Influenced by personal views on religion, politics and social injustice, Bereft remain unbound to any genre as they create their own brand of powerful, dynamic metal which intertwines elements of doom with black and post-metal outlines.

Founded by Zach Johnson and Alex Linden in 2011, the band is rounded out by Cade Gentry on bass and Patrick Hotlen on drums. Bereft released their first demo in 2013 and immediately set out playing shows throughout the Midwest. The following year, they recorded their debut EP, Lost Ages, for War Crime/Silent Pendulum Recordings.

The band is currently hammering out new material for their forthcoming debut with Prosthetic, set for a tentative spring 2016 release. Vocalist/Guitarist Linden commented, “We’re super-excited to be working with such a prolific label. It’s a partnership that we feel will be perfect for Bereft moving forward, and we really appreciate the opportunity!”

The band is currently touring alongside North, with whom they will appear tonight in Brooklyn at Saint Vitus Bar’s Silent Fest along with labelmates So Hideous and Set And Setting. Full dates can be found listed below:
