On Monday, May 18, Marilyn Manson and SMASHING PUMPKINS mainman Billy Corgan held a press conference in Chicago to promote their upcoming “The End Times” co-headlining tour. You can watch video footage of the question-and-answer session below.

Corgan told The Pulse Of Radio that the tour came about organically after he and Manson recently re-established their friendship after not speaking for 15 years. “We saw each other not too long ago and it was one of those — I’m sure people know what I’m talking about — you see somebody and it’s like no time has passed,” he said. “We just clicked back into our old friendship and realized that we missed each other and there are, unfortunately, agents in L.A. now taking credit for this beautiful tour, but it was actually his idea. He was the one that pitched to me and said, ‘We should do a tour together,’ and I was like, ‘Let’s do it.'”

Manson said in a recent Reddit “Ask Me Anything” Q&A session that the two have influenced each other both musically and personally over the years. He explained, “You can really see our friendship, and our influence, of each other… We were very much into the same writers, the same inspiration of alchemy, and that was one of the side effects of our friendship.”

Asked to share something that is not widely known about both of them, Corgan wrote that they are “both cat lovers” and “we love cats more than we love women.”

Manson chimed in that both of them “would live in a country where cats were presidents.”

SMASHING PUMPKINS and MARILYN MANSON will kick off their co-headlining “The End Times” tour on July 7 in Concord, California, winding down on August 8 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
