TOOL - "The Visuals Are First, Seeing The Band Is Secondary"

“The way we’ve always done our live thing is to put as much money as we can afford into the production and make it as exciting as possible,” says Tool guitarist Adam Jones in a new interview with Kory Grow of Rolling Stone. “I don’t want to make any promises, but we try to make it a really great visual experience… that’s what we would want if we saw a concert.”

Of course, this is all in reference to Tool’s upcoming January tour with Primus; confirmed dates can be found at this location.

A progress report on the forthcoming, as yet untitled, Tool studio album is offered up: “I’ll tell you, it’s wonderful. Things are really flowing and going really well, and I’m just blown away at the stuff that’s coming together. I’m excited and can’t wait for it to be done. It’s something I’ve been missing for a long time [laughs], that beautiful collaboration that we have because we’re all so different and have different tastes. But again, when you are all meeting in the middle and that thing you do that meets in the middle is just beautiful, it’s very rewarding. So yes, I’m very happy.”
