TODD KERNS - "I Am A Mad Bull Ready To Tear Up A Tiny Little Matador"

Todd Kerns (Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Sin City Sinners, The Age Of Electric) has posted a new blog entitled Never Stop Climbing; an excerpt follows:

“Just as one mountain is scaled you realize there is another just behind it. Never stop climbing. If you ain’t climbing you are falling. Yes, that is a lot of work. A lot of different projects. Each a different set of songs. Often a different instrument in my hands. Each a different part of my brain completely. You’ve heard me comment in the past that I think of myself as a Great White Shark. I have to keep moving.

No, I have not unpacked. I have not unpacked since 2010. For six years. There is always some form of packed or half packed bag just ready to zoom off to wherever the wind blows. SMKC played it’s final show of the World On Fire tour on last New Year’s Eve. There really hasn’t been any form of slowing down for me since. The TKO project fired up before the end of last year which led itself into a bunch of reformed Age Of Electric dates. Somewhere along the way Brent Fitz, Cory Churko and I recorded 13 classic Canadian covers in a project we call Toque for no other reason than the utmost respect and love for that material. We hope to have that released before the end of the year. AOE will have new material in the ether before the end of 2016 with an official release to follow in the new year. If that seems busy it probably is.

On top of all that Doc Ellis and I have teamed up to form Todd Dammit And The Anti-Stars with our friends Mike Elersic and Corky Gainsford, formerly of Las Vegas’ Otherwise. I have been so amped up to play the show we have coming up on September 23rd at Vamp’d in Vegas that I have had trouble sleeping. I am a mad bull ready to tear up a tiny little matador. Bring it on! This has been the most fascinating year for me. I’ve watched brother Slash go off and completely take his rightful spot on the highest profile stage of 2016 with Guns N’ Roses. Brother Myles’ beloved Alter Bridge is back on the road with a new album on it’s way. Brother Fitz has been touring with Whitford/St Holmes as well as a number of other projects. And, of course, little brother Frank has his new project which I’ll be seeing this Thursday called Royal Electric. I couldn’t be prouder of my brothers for all that they do. A little known fact is that the Conspirators will be playing a top secret show soon. No S or M just the 3 Conspirators.

Hope to see you at Count’s Vamp’d in Vegas for Todd Dammit And The Anti-Stars on one of the four dates:

September 23rd
October 27th
November 18th
December 16th

On top of all that there will be a ceremony / birthday party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas on December 3rd to put one of my basses from the World On Fire tour on the wall as well as just a good time with some friends. It’s going to round up one of the most rewarding years of my life. Thank YOU for being a part of it.”
