Legendary extreme metal drummer Gene Hoglan (TESTAMENT, DARK ANGEL, DEATH, DETHKLOK, FEAR FACTORY) will hold down the drum chair on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” from Monday, October 2 through Thursday, October 5. His guest stint in THE 8G BAND, the show’s house group led by “Portlandia” star Fred Armisen, follows brief residencies by other leading rock drummers, including Danny Carey of TOOL, Tim Alexander of PRIMUS, Nicko McBrain of IRON MAIDEN, Abe Cunningham of DEFTONES and Charlie Benante of ANTHRAX.

“Late Night With Seth Meyers” is home to A-list celebrity guests, memorable comedy and topical monologue jokes. It is hosted by Emmy Award-winning writer Seth Meyers, who was one of 2014’s Time 100 Most Influential People and named to Variety‘s 2016 New Power of New York list. Previously, Meyers served as head writer on “Saturday Night Live” and anchor on the show’s wildly popular “Weekend Update”.

“Words cannot express how elated I am to have been invited to man the throne for the mighty 8G BAND on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ in the first week of October,” says Hoglan. “I’m really looking forward to this experience, and it’s an honor to be a part of such a fun show. Thank you to all who have helped put this together, you have my esteemed gratitude.”

Hoglan‘s latest musical endeavor is Brendon Small’s GALAKTIKON, in which he is joined by musician/actor/writer/comedian Brendon Small and bassist extraordinaire Bryan Beller. Their latest release is “Galakitkon II: Become The Storm”, a high-stakes intergalactic extreme rock/metal album which came out on August 25 via Megaforce Records/MRI.

Hoglan has also been promoting his latest DVD, “The Atomic Clock: The Clock Strikes Two”, which is out now. The DVD features the Clock himself breaking down some of his favorite beats, telling stories and playing along with tracks from several of his most legendary projects. An impressive roster of high-caliber musicians also weigh in over the course of the feature, offering stories about Hoglan and their experiences working with him.
