In a brand new interview with Nerdist.com, SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor was asked about his plans for the immediate future. He responded: “SLIPKNOT is doing Mexico City on December 5th, but that’s really it. Then, basically, we’ve got the rest of the year off. We’ve got sorely needed time off coming, and I am ready. I’m pretty beat up. We’ve been touring pretty hardcore for the last six months, and it’s kind of starting to kick all of our asses. But the cool thing is that by the time we get to Mexico City, we’ll have been on the road for a year already with this album [2014’s ‘‘.5: The Gray Chapter’]. We’re gonna do some stuff next year. But for the most part it’s been incredibly successful.”

He continued: “On the music side, I’m just kind of demoing some stuff right now. I’m not sure what it’s gonna be for. Whether it’s some solo stuff or whatever. But that’s really it — finishing up the STONE SOUR EPs that we’re working on. So really nothing new at the moment. But you never know, I’m getting requests for guest appearances all the time. So I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before I appear on somebody else’s album again.”

Taylor published his third book, “You’re Making Me Hate You: A Cantankerous Look At The Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense Left”, on July 7.

The book acts as a commentary on society and pop culture said to be in the style of the late George Carlin.

Taylor‘s second book, “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Heaven”, was published in the summer of 2013 and landed at No. 23 on the New York Times “Hardcover Non-Fiction” best sellers list.
