SLAYER Streaming New Track “When The Stillness Comes”; New Album Song Titles Revealed

Nuclear Blast is issuing Slayer’s new vinyl-only single, “When The Stillness Comes” – the first new track from the band in nearly a year – as limited edition green and white vinyl. Listen to “When The Stillness Comes”, streaming below.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Slayer guitarist Kerry King talks about the new single, “We were touring Europe and we had a three-hour ride in some fucking minivan, and I’m just miserable in the backseat, not into anything,” he says of the song. “So I just stated jotting down hateful thoughts. It’s about a dude who wakes up at a crime scene and realizes he’s killed everybody. It’s really cool.”

“When The Stillness Comes” will appear on Slayer’s upcoming new record, expected later this year, and their first since 2009’s World Painted Blood. The LP, produced by Terry Date (Pantera, White Zombie), will also be the band’s first album since the death of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013 and the departure of drummer Dave Lombardo that same year. It’s tentatively due out this August.

Kerry King reveals that tracks to appear on the album include “Implode”, “Atrocity Vendor”, “When The Stillness Comes”, “Take Control”, “You Against You”, “Chasing Death”, “Cast The First Stone”, “Pride” (working title), and “Vices” (working title).
