BI·AS, the new band featuring former KORN drummer David Silveria, is working on material for its debut album. David is joined in the Orange County, California-based group by bassist Chris Dorame, guitarists Joe Taback and Mike Martin and singer Rich Nguyen.

BI·AS recently released its first two songs, “Pity” and “Change Your Mind”, and Nguyen told OC Weekly that more music is on the way.

“We are all working hard on writing the rest of our full-length,” Nguyen said. “We probably have another three, four songs to go. Hopefully, we can get into the studio and lay down these tracks in between or after our ‘one-off’ shows this summer. For the fans wanting more music right now… Hang tight, we don’t want to rush this part; it needs to be done right. For the time being, gather your friends and come out to the shows to hear the tunes.”

Silveria said that the early response to BI·AS‘s music has been overwhelmingly positive. “I think as more people discover our band, they will really like us,” he said. “We definitely have our own unique sound, but at times there are hints of the early sound of KORN. I feel this band is a new fresh sound on the rock scene that is lacking right now. We have a new sound for sure, but we aren’t reinventing the wheel.”

BI·AS has several shows lined up, including a May 4 gig in Santa Ana at Malone’s, as part of Crazyfest, featuring CRAZY TOWN.

Silveria, Dorame and Taback previously played together in CORE 10, which “imploded” last year after releasing a couple of singles and playing a number of local shows.

Silveria, who left KORN in late 2006, sued his former bandmates in February 2015, claiming that his exit from the group was merely a hiatus and that he was rebuffed when he tried to return to the band in 2013.
