JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon underwent an emergency gallbladder removal surgery on Saturday, February 9.

The rocker, who is scheduled to kick off his “Journey Through Time” tour later this month, wrote on Twitter earlier today: “Had to go into ER last night very inflamed-infected Gallbladder taken out and honestly couldn’t feel better ? Just need a few days. I’ve apparently had this for the last 3 1/2 years and didn’t know it! I thought it was parasites. I’m feeling better then ever. CU soon Friends!

“I’d like to thank Dr Minnis for doing such an amazing job and All Marin General Hospital for Being incredibly Kind Ros- Keith & My beautiful Wife Michaele for alway continually being by my side and showing me what love really is”

The “Journey Through Time” tour will see Schon taking the stage alongside founding JOURNEY and SANTANA singer/keyboardist Gregg Rolie, ex-JOURNEY drummer Deen Castronovo, bassist Marco Mendoza of THE DEAD DAISIES and THIN LIZZY, a musician named Chris Collins (on guitar and keyboards) and super-producer Marti Frederiksen (multi-instrumentalist, vocals).

Following a warm-up gig at the Jackson Rancheria Casino in Jackson, California on February 22 and the tour’s official opening night at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California on February 23, the musicians will perform at The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona on March 1 and at The Orpheum in Los Angeles, California on March 2.

“Neal Schon’s Journey Through Time” will perform all the greatest JOURNEY hits we’ve all come to love. They will also perform choice selections from their earliest recordings.

Schon and Rolie debuted “Journey Through Time” in February 2018 at The Independent in San Francisco to a sold-out crowd, performing songs spanning JOURNEY‘s entire catalog — including the first three albums, “Journey”, “Look Into The Future” and “Next”.

JOURNEY and DEF LEPPARD‘s 2018 North American co-headline tour grossed $97.1 million from 1,003,198 tickets sold, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. The trek included 56 dates across the United States, plus two shows in Canada.
