JOHNNY DEPP On HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES’ Upcoming Grammy Awards Performance - “Hopefully What Will Happen Is That The Song Will Kick In And People Are Going To Feel Their Wigs Starting To Split”

Alice Cooper and his Hollywood Vampires bandmates will bring some edge to the Grammys with a tribute to late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, and the premiere of a hard-rocking, brand new song, “As Bad As I Am”. The group – which includes Johnny Depp, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, among others – are set to perform both during the awards ceremony, which will air live on CBS on February 15th.

Johnny Depp, who has created many odd visions over the years, believes that people tuning into the Grammy Awards on Monday night will be struck by a highly unusual sight, reports USAToday. Depp himself with an electric guitar, taking the stage with rock legends Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.

“If I saw these guys coming out with myself, I too would think this is kind of a weird spectacle, initially,” says Depp with a grin, sitting with his bandmates before jamming at a rehearsal space. “There will be some people saying, ‘Let’s see this Hollywood-guy, actor-guy play guitar’. “

“But hopefully what will happen is that the song will kick in and people are going to feel their wigs starting to split,” he adds.

“We started this band as a means to toast our ‘dead drunk friends’ at the Rainbow, all the ghosts in the bar, and now I guess Lemmy is involved in that, too,” Alice Cooper told Rolling Stone. “Lemmy was one of those salt-of-the-earth guys. “Find me somebody who didn’t love Lemmy. He’s just one of those guys that’s impossible not to like.”
