IRON MAIDEN Offer Tribute To MOTÖRHEAD Leader LEMMY KILMISTER - “The World Has Lost A Unique Character”

The members of Iron Maiden and their manager, Rod Smallwood, have released the following tribute to Motörhead leader Lemmy Kilmister, who passed away on December 28th at the age of 70 following a brief battle with an aggressive cancer.

“Lemmy, Rest In Peace… Loudly! The World has lost a unique character, they don’t build them like you anymore. But you played a great set.

“Our condolences to your family and friends and Motörheads everywhere. With much affection and respect.” – Nicko, Steve, Bruce, Janick, Dave & Adrian and Rod

Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee told Sweden’s Expressen: ”Motörhead is over, of course. Lemmy was Motörhead. But the band will live on in the memories of many. We won’t be doing any more tours or anything. And there won’t be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone.”
