Instru-Metal Duo TEMPEL Readies Sophomore Album; Summer Release Expected

Following the Prosthetic release of their mammoth 2014 debut On The Steps Of The Temple, the Arizona instrumental metal duo Tempel are currently putting the final touches on a new album. The group, consisting of Ryan Wenzel (guitars/keys) and Rich Corle (drums), will soon finish tracking the new material at Wenzel’s Phoenix-area home studio, Arrowhead. A summer release is expected.

“For us, this new album represents a big evolution in all aspects of our work,” commented Wenzel. “This is a heavier, yet more melodic album than our debut. It’s a clear representation of where we are musically. We poured ourselves into this album for nearly two years, and we have never been more proud of our music.”

Added Corle, “The goal was to make sure everything was constantly moving in these songs. We didn’t want anything to interrupt the forward momentum. At the same time, we wanted to work in all the different types of metal we love that we didn’t feel were represented on the debut.”

On The Steps Of The Temple featured 53 minutes of towering riffs, crushing drums and apocalyptic compositions that blended metal’s dark and melodic influences seamlessly. The album is available digitally via iTunes, Amazon MP3 or Bandcamp or on CD via the Prosthetic webshop.
